A Word from your Board of Directors
Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
This certainly is not a normal time, is it? As we walk through this Covid-19 pandemic, we’ve all had to make many adjustments to how we do ministry, being creative and resourceful as we seek the Lord’s guidance for how to lead our churches. Similarly, we on the Panfork Executive Board have been in prayer and conversation for several weeks over how to respond as a campground.
Unfortunately, in light of the current uncertainty about what summer will look like and in order to serve the churches of our association as best we can, Panfork will not be holding camps in June or July of 2020. This decision did not come quickly, and it certainly did not come lightly, but we of the board believe this to be the right decision.
We are in the process of brainstorming what opportunities for ministry might be available for this year, and are considering the possibility of digital events, as well as the possibility of mini-camps held at Panfork in August, and we desire any ideas or input you might have. If you feel the Lord lay something on your heart, please don’t hesitate to contact myself or another member of the Panfork Executive Board. We may not be able to do camp as usual this summer, but I am convinced the Lord is going to work good through this season, both inside His Church and in the way His Church reaches out to the communities around us.
This is a difficult time, not only from the perspective of determining how to do ministry, but also financially, as we seek to preserve Panfork’s ability to minister to people for many years to come. Not having camps impacts the funds that are available for staff, maintenance, and improvements, so I would ask that you pray to see whether the Lord leads you or your church to give toward sustaining the ministry of Panfork well into the future. For those of you who have already submitted deposits for camp this year, we will default to rolling those funds over toward next year’s deposits, but we will of course refund them upon request.
Thank you all for your prayers, and for the zeal you show in pouring the Gospel of Christ into the lives of those you serve. It is our privilege to do ministry alongside you, and to serve you as you serve others.
Panfork Executive Board President
